A massage therapist at a small local business said compliance costs of over $6,000 a month could close her employer, costing her a better wage than a franchise would pay.

A solo massage therapist sharing space with mental health professionals asked for an exemption from the video surveillance requirement and criticized the unlocked-door access rules.

A Fern Creek salon owner with one massage therapist said compliance costs may force her to eliminate massage and lay off a 17-year employee; she asked for an exemption for ancillary services.
